Alexandra Zgondea in her studio surrounded by nature
Biography & Studio Philosophy

Alexandra Zgondea

“My feelings are too loud for words and too shy for the world that’s why I choose to paint. I open the gates of my soul, and let the colors shape an image that would otherwise be hard to describe, hoping that a glimpse of it would make someone’s day brighter in some way.”
— Dejan Stojanović

Alexandra Zgondea is a painter, freelance illustrator, and graphic designer rooted in the natural beauty of Romania. Loving visual creation since earliest childhood, Alexandra attended the Gh. Tattarescu High School of the Arts, specializing in decorative and mural painting.

She continued her academic training at the National University of Arts in Bucharest, Faculty of Decorative Arts and Design, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in graphic design. After working as a designer in Bucharest, she chose to settle closer to the mountains and forests of Brașov and Codlea.

Working in dialogue with nature, Alexandra creates original paintings, tactile sculptural reliefs with modeling paste and natural glazes, and bespoke editorial works. Following the birth of her son in 2013, her artistic voice deepened into narrative storybook illustrations and children's visual literature, celebrating the spiritual lessons of the natural world and the quiet wonder of living creatures.

Today, she works from her home studio surrounded by gardens and woodland, where she lives with her husband and son, exploring how art reconnects the modern eye with stillness, growth, and organic endurance.
